Background
East Hill Management Company was founded as an investment firm in 2000 by Landon T. Clay and Jeffrey S. Garner to manage alternative assets for high net worth families, endowments, trusts and institutions. We are a Registered Investment Advisor with the Securities and Exchange Commission and currently manage separate accounts, a hedge fund and venture capital partnerships on behalf of clients.
East Hill venture capital partnerships have invested in 14 early stage companies spun-out of the University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, University of Southampton and University Leuven during the past five years.
Investment Criteria
East Hill primarily serves as the lead investor and plays an active role in the growth of each portfolio company. East Hill's activities have focused on discoveries within UK academic institutions in the life sciences and physical sciences. East Hill prefers to become involved with a company at an early stage, although second and later round investments are considered in cases of demonstrated progress toward commercialization.
While opportunities are viewed individually, features common to all East Hill investments include:
-
World class scientists and management teams with an entrepreneurial vision, drive, and relevant experience.
-
Breakthrough technology with a proprietary intellectual property position.
-
Clearly focused products for substantial markets with high growth rates.
-
Attractive financial characteristics.
At East Hill, we are committed to bringing short and long-term value to our portfolio companies.
